Today's Verse:
And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him (Colossians 1:21-22 ESV).

Today's Tip:
Reminder! There is a temptation to chase after and study passage of scripture before finishing your daily reading. Make a note of the passage and continue your reading. You can study it out after you have finished your reading.

Jim's Notes
Welcome to Colossians! The subject matter of Colossians is the sufficiency of Christ. Isaiah 41 is "intended both for the conviction of idolaters and for the consolation of all God’s faithful worshipers" (Matthew Henry's Commentary). Isaiah 42:1–9 "is the first of four “Servant Songs” in chs. 40–55 celebrating the Servant of the Lord (49:1–7; 50:4–11; 52:13–53:12; cf. ch. 61)" (Source: Reformation Study Bible).
