In 2 Samuel 4, 5, 6, Ish-bosheth is murdered; David is anointed King of Israel and defeats the Philistines; the Ark is brought to Jerusalem; and David and Michal have a falling out. In our reading in Luke, Jesus foretells His death for a third time.
