Today's Bible Reading for January 3

Today's Reading
Genesis 6 .......(Listen & Read along in NIV or KJV)
Genesis 7
Genesis 8
Matthew 3 .......(Listen & Read along in NIV or KJV)

Today's reading appears to surround a water theme. Noah and the flood and the baptism of Jesus. Noah was given a real challenge! What about that guy John Baptist?

Tip! Be careful not to turn your Bible reading into a study. If there are verses that catch your eye or raise questions have a notebook handy to write the verses down for deeper study after you have finished your reader or for another time.

Now also in Kindle

Jim's Notes:
Genesis 6:8 Three powerful words, "But Noah found..."
Genesis 6:11 Is this today?
Genesis 6:15 450 feet is a big boat! Note that God left nothing to chance when it came to saving Noah and He leaves nothing to chance concerning our salvation.
Genesis 7:5 Noah's obedience
Genesis 7:16 God shut the door.
Genesis 7:22 No breathing thing lived.
Genesis 8:15 God had commanded them to enter the ark and God would command them to leave.
Genesis 8:21 Total depravity
Matthew 3:1 John's message -- REPENT!
Matthew 3:13-17 Jesus identified with mankind by setting the example of baptism. God, the Father, identified Jesus as his Son.
