The Pharisees and Sadducees seek a sign from Jesus in Matthew 16 and Jesus warns us about self-righteousness. Peter declares Jesus as the Messiah and also tells of his coming death in Matthew 16. Things get tough for Israel in Exodus and God renews his promises.
