Jim's Notes: 

Note in Exodus 1 that the midwives feared the Lord. They held a reverence for God that compelled them to obey God rather than the king of Egypt. Moses' mother trusted God hoping that Pharaoh’s daughter would have compassion on the baby in Exodus 2. In the same chapter Moses, now grown, get ahead of God. In Exodus 3, we have the famous bush that burns but not consumed and we are introduced to the great "I AM"!
