Today's Verse:
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6 ESV

Jim's Notes
Isaiah 31 is warning "to those who, when the Assyrian army invaded them, trusted to the Egyptians, and not to God" (Matthew Henry's Commentary). Isaiah 32 begins with a prophetic view of the reign of Hezekiah with future view of kingdom of the Messiah and ends with a promise of better times. Isaiah 33 focuses on Assyria’s defeat and Judah’s exaltation. Welcome to Philippians. Philippians 1, after the greeting and prayer, introduces us to the theme "To Live for Christ."
