Today's Verse:
If you find yourself losing focus, try reading aloud.
Jeremiah 9 and 10 tells why God is pronouncing judgement: "And the Lord says: “Because they have forsaken my law that I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice or walked in accord with it, 14 but have stubbornly followed their own hearts and have gone after the Baals, as their fathers taught them." (Jeremiah 9:13-14 ESV). 1 Timothy 3 gives us the qualifications for pastors and for deacons. Verse 16 is the confess of the mystery of godliness: "Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness:
He was manifested in the flesh,
vindicated by the Spirit,
seen by angels,
proclaimed among the nations,
believed on in the world,
taken up in glory."

Today's Verse:
Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 9:23-24 ESV
