Today's Verse:
The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. 1 Timothy 1:15 ESV

Today's Tip:
If time allows, we encourage you to read a few chapters ahead.

Jim's Notes
Welcome to 1 Timothy! Paul writing to his "Son in the Faith" makes clear the purpose of his letter in verse 5: "5 The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith" (1 Timothy 1:5 ESV). In Jeremiah 5, we have the record of Jerusalem refusing to repent and because they have "They have made their faces harder than rock (Jeremiah 5:3 ESV) the Lord proclaims judgment and announces the impending disaster for Jerusalem in chapter 6.
