1 Kings 16 gives us a brief account of the reign of Elah,  Zimri, Omri,  in Israel and introduces us to the reign of Ahab. Chapter 17 ushers in the prophet Elijah and the following chapter tells of the confrontation of Elijah and the prophets of Baal. In John 1:29-51, John the Baptist declares Jesus the Lamb of God and Jesus calls his first disciples.
