Today's Tip (From the Archive Reminder)
Find a place and a time when you can be alone and simply read. Your goal is not to do a deep study of the word but to simply read it and let it sink into you. The two key words to succeeding in this quest is PURPOSE and PRAY!
Jim's Notes: Genesis 33 Jacob and Esau reconcile. Jacob's daughter is defiled that results in a massacre at Shechem in chapter Genesis 34. The following chapter (Genesis 35) has God renewing his covenant and the deaths of both Rachel and Isaac. Matthew 11 has an interesting account of John the Baptist, while in prison, sending his disciples for assurance that Jesus was the Messiah. Jesus give deeper insight into the person of John.
