Today's Bible Reading for January 12

Genesis 29 Read Along and Listen NIV or KJV
Genesis 30 Read Along and Listen NIV or KJV
Matthew 10:1-23 Read Along and Listen NIV or KJV

Today's Tip
"It is Christ Himself, not the Bible, who is the true word of God. The Bible, read in the right spirit, and with the guidance of good teachers, will bring us to Him." (C.S. Lewis, Letters of C.S. Lewis, pg. 247.)

If you find yourself several days behind, make a note of the chapters you have missed and pick up reading today. When you have an extra few minutes, go back and read what you missed.

Pastor Jim's Notes
In today's reading, we are introduced in Matthew 10 to the 12 apostles.The word apostle means "Sent ones." Jesus teaches about the cost of discipleship. In Genesis, Jacob meets and falls in love with Rachel. He marries Leah and then Rachel (sounds a little like a soap opera).

  1. Please pray for me today guys. This week has not been great. I have very long hours and I'm fighting a very poor attitude. Thanks, and I'm really enjoying reading every day.
