Genesis 28 Read Along and Listen NIV or KJV
Matthew 9:18-38 Read Along and Listen NIV or KJV

Today's Tip
"The Bible is not an end in itself, but a means to bring men to an intimate and satisfying knowledge of God, that they may enter into Him, that they may delight in His Presence, may taste and know the inner sweetness of the very God Himself in the core and center of their hearts." (A. W. Tozer, The Pursuit of God. Christian Publications. 1948. pg. 10).

Good habits, like daily reading the bible, are developed by determination. Daniel purposed in his heart he would not defy himself and sin against his Lord. The key word for accomplishing this task is "purpose." (See Daniel 1)

Jim's Notes:
Today we read about Abraham death, Isaac becomes a father, and a struggle between brothers, Jacob and Esau, begins.  Isaac, like his father, put at risk the promise of God by following in the foot prints of his father. Jesus issues pardons to a lame man and a publican in Matthew 9 and address the issue of fasting.
