In Amos 7, we have God contending with Israel and Israel contending with God. Amos 8 is the tell of sinfulness followed by sorrowfulness. God renews his threat of judgment with a promise of mercy in Amos 9. Revelation 7 gives us the sealing of the 144,000 and "a great multitude that no one could number" coming out of "the great tribulation."
