Today's Bible Reading:
Isaiah 50, 51, 52; 1 Thessalonians 1
Today's Verse:
I gave my back to those who strike,
and my cheeks to those who pull out the beard;
I hid not my face
from disgrace and spitting.
Isaiah 50:6
Today's Tip:
It never hurts to read ahead a few chapters. If you have the opportunity to do so, do it.
Isaiah 50-52 are laced with prophesies of hope for the future Babylonian exiles and father reaching prophesies concerning the promised Servant Savior (i.e. Messiah) and the end times. Often these prophesies are intertwined and difficult to separate, so the reader needs to remember to focus on the message of hope. Welcome to 1 Thessalonians, which is a book also addressing future hope.
