Today's Verse:
Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. -Galatians 6:7-8

Today's Tip:
Do you know that you have a reading buddy? He is the Holy Spirit. Read with the confidence of this promise: " he will guide you into all truth" John 16:13.

Jim's Notes
The Reformation Study Bible gives this footnote to Isaiah 13:1–23:18: "Isaiah prophesies concerning the day of the Lord and what it means for the nations. Babylon and Assyria are treated together in the first oracle (13:1–14:27) because Babylon became the crown jewel of the Assyrian Empire. Assyrian kings had themselves crowned as kings of this renowned city. Babylon was regarded as an epitome of religion and culture, and as such Babylon represents the kingdoms of this world. Peter and John continue to use Babylon as a symbol for ungodly nations (1 Pet. 5:13; Rev. 14:8; 16:19; 17:1–18:24)." In Galatians 6, we are encouraged to bear one another's burdens.
